"One Bad Apple"

Have you ever hated a job so much you wanted nothing more than to sabotage it? You want nothing more than for them to experience the same kind of hell they put you through. Wanting to put them on their knees and ask for forgiveness in hopes you'll help relieve them of the burden you placed upon them. You then make your escape and leave them to their twisted fate.

My eyelids are heavy enough that forcing them open is almost impossible. I had to fight it to see where my phone was to turn my alarm off. I check the time, was it 7 a.m. already? I threw my blanket off and grabbed some clothes from my closet before jumping in the bathroom for a quick shower.
"Today is the day," I thought aloud. "I'm going to put my two weeks in and everything will go according to planned."
After finishing up the shower, I threw my clothes on and headed out the door. I had to double back inside after realizing I forgot my keys inside. I climbed into my car and headed to work.
On my way, the idea and the anxiety didn't leave my mind. I couldn't stop thinking about what my boss might say or even do after he realizes I'm leaving. He says I'm one of the most valuable people they have working there. They can't afford to lose me.
Finally, I made it. The parking lot was flooded with nearly as many cars as it could fit. If the employee parking wasn't open there would be no place for me to park. I got out of my car and snuck inside, slipping my hat on.
The screens inside were full as usual. They desperately needed my help in the kitchen. I ran back there, helping in dropping food in the fryers and tossing meat up on the grill. I helped bagging some food and before too long, the screens were nearly empty.
In all the help, my manager noticed me and thanked me for assisting. We carried on in a conversation as we made our way back into the kitchen. The co-workers were working to get everything stocked back up, awaiting another rush.
I broke the harsh news to my boss. He looked at me in a stern, concerning way. What was going through his mind? He was angry, I knew he would be. He simply nodded and said, "Thanks for letting me know."
He walked away and began working on some paperwork on his desk. That went far smoother than I thought. Perfect, part one of my plan had been pulled off without a hitch. Part two was about to commence.

I waited until my very last day to ensure nobody would catch on. I had recently purchased some special poison from a source I'm not aloud to name. I paid a pretty penny for it as well.
I spent the entire day listening carefully to every customer and matching them up with the food they were ordering. We could hear every word from the kitchen. I waited for the rude ones to order and slipped the poison in their food. I had been practicing my slight of hand so it would be untraceable, even on the cameras.
You see, the poison is special in that they don't realize it is in their system for a few days. They then go into cardiac arrest and die several days after consumption. It was a devious plan, but what better way to cull the population than to get rid of the rotten ones?

"Hooked"

T he summer can be the perfect time to get away, to unwind while kicking your feet into the cool water while the hot sun is beaming down on you. But what if the bright summer sky was hiding behind it something even darker? I had been waiting for today all week. They'd finally opened the stream up for fishing. I was a little upset at the fact they'd decided to raise prices, but I didn't care, it was a nice day outside and I wasn't about to waste it sitting inside when I could be fishing. With my tacklebox in hand and my fishing pole in the other, I made my way to my truck. I threw everything in the back seat. I was about to head to the driver's seat but hesitated when I thought about bringing my cooler. I had one in the back ready for fish, as well as housing some canisters of worms. But what if I brought one along for some drinks? After a few moments I decided it might not be the greatest idea. It would be too much to carry and I didn't trust anyone that...

"The Light"

My day off from work was supposed to be a day for me to relax and unwind and rest. The past few days had been incredibly stressful, from hateful customers to managers that expected everyone to do their jobs for them, and everything in between. It was nice to finally have that down time to spend away from all that. I'd decided to spend my time, not to get things done around the house, but to play a new game I'd been hooked on lately. It was this puzzle game where every room is seemingly randomly generated, each with clean and clever puzzles. After booting up the game, I was presented a room with white padded tiles all over the walls. There were a few green, red, and blue squares. I guess my job was to manipulate those tiles somehow to get me from where I was no, up to the top of the level. I looked around the room and could barely make out an opening. I pressed a single button to get myself started when the light in my bedroom burnt out, leaving me shrouded in darkness...

"Checkmate"

W hen my best friend and I got into a small disagreement, I didn't think all that much of it afterward. When he and I fought, it didn't really end in much besides us stepping away from each other for a few hours before reuniting as if nothing had previously taken place. I knew it meant we had a strong friendship. The argument we just had, however, was completely different from the small disagreements we usually had. Instead of it being about videogames of films, this one got a little personal. Pretty much, I had deeply judged the guy because he wasn't a fan of my speedrun tournament. He swore that I had agreed to hang out with him just before going live with my greatest world record speedrun attempt yet, one I had been spending three weeks practicing for. Before we went our separate ways, instead of wishing me luck or doing our usually angred goodbyes, he snickered at me, saying "Good luck with your stream." Before I could ask him what that was about, he left ...
