There are some days we want nothing more than to retire and relax for the remainder of the night. We want to lay back and turn on some music. What if I told you that, even though you think you are relaxing alone, you are anything but. What if you overheard something as you were relaxing that sent a chill down your spine that you may never recover from?
The day at work was a long and harsh one. Dealing with people a little too upset and confused by what they were even doing there that they could do nothing but bicker. Their voices rang through my ears, even hours after being away from work. I needed my own time to sit back and relax from the headache of work.
I got out of my car and just sat there a moment. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath before looking up at the stars out my window and exhaling in a sigh of relief. There was nothing quite like the beauty of nature to help me feel better. It was healing almost.
I got out of my car and headed inside, leaving behind the chirping crickets and the fireflies that filled the night. I shut my door and turned on the lights to my home. It was nice to finally be back. The familiar smell and the small mess of papers I'd left on the counter made it feel more like home. It was peaceful to be here, away from the people and into a world of my own.
I turned on my phone and headed into my bedroom to grab my headphones. Upon tunring my screen on, I was greeted by a ton of notifications from apps that I rarely ever touched. Why is it the apps we use the least send us more notifications than ones we use nearly every day?
Heading into my room, I grabbed my Bluetooth headphones and headed back into the living room. All I desired was to simply sit and rest on my recliner and listen to music with nary an interuption from the outside world.
I sunk into my chair, allowing the soft cushioning smother me in comfort. I put my headphones on and held down the button to make the connection with my phone.
"Connecting," the lady said as it waited for the connection from my phone. I waited for it to connect but nothing ever happened. I was lost, it usually connected right away. I checked the settings to see if it was even showing up, perhaps the headphones weren't working right.
To my surprise, the Bluetooth wasn't even on on my phone. I chuckled to myself and turned it on.
"Connected," the lady's voice said. Yes, finally some relaxation. I went to my music app and started playing music. It wasn't coming out of the headphones, it was coming out of the speakers. What the hell, I thought it was connected.
I was about to see what was going on in my settings when I heard demonic whispers speaking through my ears. It felt as though it was coming from right next to me.
