"The Broken-Hearted Deal"

H ave you ever been in love, only for it to end in heartbreak as they leave their eyes lingering on another? What was that feeling you had inside, did you feel hollow, like you could have done better? Do you feel incredible jealousy and rage toward the person you lost them to? What would you do if you could get your perfect revenge? The restaurant was filled with the rambles of a sea of varying voices. No one voice above enough to make out from the rest. I sat quietly in my seat, looking over the menu, trying to decide what I was going to have for dinner with my girlfriend, whenever she shows up. I know, it's a twisted little surprise I have instore for her. I hadn't exactly told her I'd be here. I overheard her on the phone the other night that she was going to meet here with a friend. Admittedly, it did feel a little weird to show up to a get together unannounced, but it was our anniversary. We'd been together for a year to the date. I texted her to throw her of...

"Pick Their Poison"

S adness is a thing few ever wish to encounter. Sadness makes your head spin, forcing thoughts into your head you never wanted to think. Things you would never believe if you were in the right mind. Why is it that sadness and depression twists our minds into such a dark place? And do we ever have a chance of escape? How far does your mind go? Coming home from work, all I could think about was how much a failure I was. I can't shake the image from my mind of a customer telling me I was a waste of space and I didn't deserve the job I'd been at for several years. I wasn't sure what had struck me first, the fact I had no life outside of my job, or that I never had anyone to turn to when the dark thoughts crept in. I despised feeling empty inside, but I hadn't a clue on ho...

"Ship It"

T he world is filled with interesting curiosities. Some are a mystery yet to be figured out, such as why we dream when we sleep. Others are manufactured that are rarely looked into, such as today's story, can you send someone through the mail? And what if you could defy the odds and actually manage to do so?  Stepping into the taxi, I figured it would be a decent ride to my good friend's house. I wasn't one to strike up conversation with people I didn't know. I simply gave him the address where I was headed, handed him my card, and we were on our way. The driver tried making small talk, but I pulled my phone out to avoid him. He took the hint and remained silent. Scrolling through my phone, I figured, what better time than now to remind myself why I was heading to see this good friend? I opened YouTube and found their video. As the video went on, he explained that he had plans to mail himself about and hour from where he lived. He had set for his father to pick hi...
