"Breez-E-Treats"

S tarting out, these horror stories wouldn't come from twisted ideas and experiences, but from asking people for random words and merging them together into something weird and dark. Previously, I'd even turned to A.I. randomly generated plots, going with the ones that made the least amount of sense and running with it. Today, I decided to turn back to that, mixing a bunch of random things together and making something dark out of it. This story was made using 2 words: Edible Febreze. "Are you tired of boring air fresheners that taste like garbage? Are you sick of good smelling air and only getting hungrier? We have what you need! Introducing, Breez-E-Treats! Now you can get full off the delicious smell of the air! Available wherever you buy groceries," I could hear the advertisement nearly screaming at me and my kids as they ate their cereal. One glance at my son, Jeremy, told me he was about to ask for some. "Mom, can I get some of the Breez-E-Treats cans...

"Escape Room [Part 3]"

I magine, you stand before a puzzle. The pieces seem infinite and every attempt to connect them seems impossible. Once you finally get lucky and find the two rare pieces that connect, you find that it somehow becomes easier for you to solve the puzzle. And when you finally see the bigger picture, it may or may not be as satisfying as trying to figure it out from the start. As I slowly made my return to the living room, the words written on the basement door burned in my mind. What pieces did I have to put together? While these puzzles were challenging, they vaguely pointed me in any direction of having pieces to 'put together'. What was I expected to put together? I thought back to the first room I was in. What kind of pieces could have been hiding in there? The only things in there I remembered were the key in my favorite book and the numbers 9-1-9. Why did it have to be those numbers, what did they mean? Maybe it was a date, September 1st, 2009? That day meant nothing t...

"Escape Room [Part 2]"

V enturing into the darkness, your senses heighten. Every sound you hear sounds unnatural and growing ever closer. Your eyes adjust to the darkness and you make out dark shapes. You know you're alone, so why is there a dark figure before you? You're alone, but why do you hear scratching on the walls and hot breath on your neck? Your mind loves playing tricks on you, especially when the eyes cannot see. I could feel the rage boiling inside me, what gave her the right to hire some people to come in and trash my house for some kind of game? It was twisted in such a cruel way. Whoever is behind this better be paying for all the damages they're causing. With my phone still out, I tried dialing 9-1-1, but there was only static on the line. It was still raining outside, is it what's causing my phone to mess up, or is it some kind of twisted piece to the game? I didn't have much time to dwell on it, I needed to make it outside. I turned to the front door, only to find...

"Escape Room"

D o you ever find yourself stressed from the world around you? Do you feel exhausted from all the constant challenges and hardships in your life? Do you need a break? What if I told you there was a way to escape? Go and find it... before it finds you. It was nearing the end of a painfully long shift at work. My arms and legs ached for a chance to take a breath. Thankfully, two people were just walking through the door to take my best friend's place, as well as my own. Finally, I could sit down for a moment. I heard my friend letting out a sigh as she plopped down on the seat next to me. She slouched over, giving her shoulders a gentle rub. "So, what are you doing for your birthday next week?" she asked. I simply shrugged. I was turning twenty-five. I was reaching the point where birthdays didn't really matter to me besides an excuse for getting a free day off. "Not much, I'm probably just going to stay home and orer some pizza." "That soun...
